The Ulinzi Health Services Fund (UHSF) held its Q1 FY 2026/27 Regular Advisory Board Meeting on 29 September 2026, chaired by Mr. Patrick Mariru, Principal Secretary, Ministry of Defence.

The meeting provided an opportunity for the Board to review the Fund’s progress, assess the delivery of health services across Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) health facilities, and deliberate on key matters aimed at strengthening service delivery.

As UHSF continues to grow, the Fund has so far served more than 30,000 clients since its inception, reflecting its expanding role in improving access to healthcare services within KDF-supported health facilities. The Advisory Board continues to provide strategic oversight, enabling the Fund to monitor its progress, identify areas for improvement, and make informed decisions that enhance the quality and efficiency of healthcare services.

The meeting also addressed challenges affecting service delivery and explored measures to improve operational efficiency across UHSF-supported facilities. These deliberations are

critical in ensuring that UHSF initiatives remain responsive to the evolving healthcare needs of its clientele.

Through regular Advisory Board engagements, UHSF continues to strengthen its systems, improve healthcare delivery, and align its initiatives with Kenya’s Universal Health Coverage (UHC) objectives, while contributing to the broader mandate of strengthening healthcare services across the Kenya Defence Forces.
